Isonat®

Isonat® is a natural insulation made in slabs from hemp and recycled cotton fibres. It can be used in timber walls, floors, sloping ceilings and lofts.
The hemp is grown by farmers in the UK, processed in the UK then sent to France for manufacture (hopefully it will be manufactured in the UK in the future). Hemp is grown without the use of herbicides or pesticides and locks up carbon dioxide during growth. The recycled cotton fibres are sourced close to the factory. The slabs are held together by a small addition of thermoplastic binder.

As Isonat® is made from natural fibres it does not irritate the eyes, skin, or respiratory tract and so it is not necessary to use protective equipment when handling it.

Specification
Isonat® is authorised for use throughout the EU by the Centre Scientifique et Technique Du Batiment(CSTB) in France. Isonat® is treated with a fire retardant to provide a Euroclass E fire rating and conforms to the requirements of the Building Regulations. Thermal Conductivity 0.039 W/mK. Density 35 kg/m³.

Isonat® comes in slabs 1200mm long, 50/75/100mm thick and either 400mm/600mm wide.
